Federalism As America shed itself from British rule, an expectation of stillness immediately ensued. Although free of foreign rule, unity among those in this peeled America would not throw in without struggle. The states would need their own governing body of government; hence what was anticipated to be a relatively smooth, non-conflicting transition of rule would prove to have its own challenges as well. America would be born into a very opponent world, a world that would be conflicted from within. The force behind the debates that would come about in constructing this new America was driven by the impression of office staff. States were initially fearful of centralized authority; the Continental Congress thus formed the Articles of Confederation, putting very littler power in the hands of the national government. Instead the power would rest in the hands of the states, consequently leading to a relatively frail and unstable government. It became clear that change was needed. In result, a new complex national government was proposed, to begin with based on the novel system of Federalism. Those accepting the Federalist predilection dismissed the Articles of Confederation as insufficient in its entirety. These followers believed wholeheartedly that induction of the Constitution was a necessary progress of this former system.

Federalism, as this side would soon be called, dealt with the notion of dividing power between the central government and the states (p.23). Seemingly moderately to many of its advocates, this idea did not sit well with other people of the United States. The result was dickens opposing sides, two s that did not see eye to eye.
