The Broadway bunk, “The 39 Steps”, which is performing at the Cort Theater, is a comical theatrical version of a complicated 1915 novel by John Buchan. In this Broadway set up, a Canadian world on a holiday in London named Richard Hannay establishes his innocence in the crime of the murder of a mysterious brunette spy. He also tries to pr make upt a national secret from passing out of the country to “the enemy”, whoever that may be. In order to do this, Hannay discovers and brings to justice a ring of spies named “the thirty-nine steps”. Through his efforts, he met a towheaded woman named Pamela, which helps Richard with all the journeys of capturing the spies.
Sam Robards, the lineament that plays Richard Hannay, is the main fiber in the play. His role in the play is persistent; he is brave enough to go through all the conflicts that he encounters during his mission. His acting is convincing because it makes me feel resembling I am into the play, which is a difficult task to pass with all the word-painting changes that are done in this finical play. Robards did not quickly change his role according to the scene that they are currently acting in.



He did not show the audience that he has any difficulties meeting the standards of portraying the character of Richard Hannay. His voice is loud and clear, with the tone that chamges perfectly with the mood and the settings. Francesca Faridany, the character that plays three roles, which are the roles of Annabella Schmidt, Pamela, and Margaret, did such a great argument at all her roles. I enjoyed how she went from being a blonde to a brunette, while getting the audience to feel like it is actually another person playing the character. The same goes with the man number one and man number two, which are contend by Jefferey Kuhn and Arnie Burton.
