Buddy Bolden is truly one of the most swart figures in jazz history. He is truly a legend. nil sincerely knows where the reality of his story starts and the myth begins. His legendary spot grew as the number of inaccuracies and inconsistencies published blotto to him increased. Nobody really thoroughly researched his life, and the information that was documented was scarce and not needs true. In the book, written by Donald M. Marquis he was strained to investigate the myths and try and to find the legitimate faithfulness about Boldens life. He did many interviews, and found records that exposed that a lot of the information out there was false. The book is a tell all about his road to find the truth about Buddy Bolden.
Charles Buddy Bolden was born on kinsfolk 6, 1877. thither has been much controversy concerning Buddys rescue date. In his early years, Buddy would have probably make close with his father, riding along on the wagon acquainting himself with the propinquity and people who would later influence his life. He probably got his offset printing glimpses of the New Orleans music scene with his father watch parades and attending concerts where ecesis bands played.
Some of the early leaders of the brass bands at this time would have been Thomas S. Kelly, Charlie Jaeger, Frank Dodson, Louis Martin and Sylvester Decker. There were also some smaller string bands at this time also, although few of the musicians names have survived. Some of the halls where these concerts were held survived until the 1900s, but when Buddy was a boy the popular spots included Loepers Park, orangish grove picnic grounds, Magnolia Garden and Turners Hall all of which were close to Buddys home for him to at least of comprehend the music.
