1. Describe the lives of strivers, and the efforts to free then and to stop the shift in slaves, during Colonial times and the early Republic.


Slavery in America began in Chesapeake after 1619. In the beginning the slaves were interact as indentured servants. Slaves can gain freedom if they executeed surface their term of being an indentured servant. But because African servants induct dark skin the colony soon see shameful only as slaves, so it became a custom for the discolor colonials to have slaves.
They were first brought to the colonies for planters plantation manual of arms labor. As the staple crops in the colonies commercial markets increased so did the need for slaves for the economic growth of the colony.
Slaves throwed as farm laborers, development cottons, tobacco, rice and other products for export. Some slaves work on big plantations and some worked in small farms. They work from sunrise to dawn. At night the slaves had to stay in their so-called homes because they werent allowed to go out. Slave had no rights at all. They cant leave their cabin because if they do they will be treated as runaways. Then they will be punish cruelly.



Slaves werent treated as human; they were treated as human properties that have no legal rights whatsoever including their lives.
most of the slaves are uneducated and the ones that were headstrong were s aged. They werent allowed to learn how to instruct or write because they might get some ideas.
Marriages among the slave had no legal standing because slave owners often stony-broke up families by selling one or to a greater extent of the family members, but some slave owners accepted marriages because it helps the growth of their plantation. To them the more people in the family mean more workers for the plantation.
